Sally is a stunning girl was rescued by a kind soul who is now looking for a home for her.

Sally is HW positive, but is spayed and microchipped.  She is up-to-date on all her shots and on Heartguard.  Her heartworm treatment has been delayed as she was very skinny.  However, she’s gained weight and is ready to get treatment.  She's a tad bit underweight still, but we're working on that.

Sally has made incredible strides, both physically and emotionally.  She answers to her name, comes when called, uses a dog door, is well-behaved in a crate, tolerates bathing and nail trimming, and even understands "wait" at the door.  We're still working on leash training, but given her health, we are taking it slowly and stress-free.  Oh, and I can leave her uncrated all day long and she doesn't have any accidents.

When the food bowl comes out, and she hurries to the first open crate she can find without being coerced.  Eating her food is a different story. Sometimes she will, sometimes she won't....depending on what's in there.  Dry kibble....maybe.  Dry kibble with an egg...probably. Dry kibble with ANY canned food....probably not.  Dry kibble with store-brand Velveeta...absolutely.  Dry kibble with browned pork or ground beef....loves it!  Mashed potatoes, leftover BBQ, French fries, and egg sandwiches all work for her too.

Sally now bounces around and plays **VERY** rough with my dogs.  She's hilarious when she plays with my girls.  My male HATES her because she occupies more of my time than he thinks she should.  She does fine with my roommate’s bratty old cranky JRT-mix.

She's a happy girl and loves to play with the super-soaker water gun.  The Dobes freak out when I shoot them, but not Sally...she tries to bite the stream of water.  She was around a cat once.  She tagged along with me on a home check for Dobe rescue.  She is sometimes shy around strangers and will hide herself if she thinks she needs to.  However, she’s very sweet…though her kisses are a little excessive, in fact...they're rather sloppy.  She will slip you the tongue if you're lucky.

She doesn't get on the bed or furniture.  About the only thing she does wrong is throw little temper tantrums in the yard when she thinks she's been out there too long.  She digs in the yard, emits high-pitched "chirps" and grabs the dirt/grass with her mouth and slings it everywhere.  Of course, I laugh and try to tell get to stop...but I'm laughing.  What a correction, huh?  It's really funny when my buddies are over and see it.

I would love to find someone willing to take her through HW treatment at my vet (I will pay).  A foster-to-adopt home must also be within 50 miles of metro Houston, preferably on the west or NW side of town.  The foster-to-adopt home also MUST be willing to stay in bi-monthly contact with me until she is through HW treatment.

The adoption fee for Sally is a $300 donation to AGSDR.  However, the contract signed will be the Houston Area Doberman Rescue contract.

These are alot of requirements....but I'm totally in love with Sally and someone else will love her too.  I wish I could keep her but five permanent dogs in the household is just too much, especially when fosters are added in!

NOTE:  In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids.  In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children.  However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction.  Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species.  Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
