Tequila’s history – Tequila was surrendered to the Animal Shelter due to the death of her owner and the children were unable to keep her. Her surrender notes said she gets along with other dogs, cats, kids, etc..  She was heartworm positive, but has been treated and completed her recovery period.   It has been observed that Tequila would like to chase cats if given the opportunity.  Tequila’s age was stated at 6 Years old on 8-07 by her owner surrender papers.  The shelter estimated her to be 8 years old.

Appearance –  She is a lovely White German Shepherd dog, with beautiful dark eyes that  just gaze up at you.

Housetraining    At the foster’s home Tequila has not made any mistakes in the house when she is loose. I do work during the day so long periods inside isn’t 100% known .  She is crated inside for bedtime.  She makes no mistakes in her crate, and will whine/cry if she does need to go outside.

Social Habits & Temperament – Tequila gets along very well with 2/3 GSD residents.   The 3rd  resident dog has her own alpha female issues.  Tequila is not food aggressive, takes treats gently.  She is curious and not fearful.  She likes to investigate the bullfrogs that have taken up residence by the Koi pond.  She sniffs at them, they jump, and so does she. It’s really cute to watch. She likes to play with toys, and be loved on.   She does not jump up on people.    She would be a great companion to be active with and then come home and veg out with her human. She is really a lovely, fun dog that wants to please. She is a full size German Shepherd dog that currently lives only with other German Shepherd dogs.    There isn’t any available access to small dogs or cats so I don't know how she would interact with them.

Leadership Requirements   Tequila has a calm, happy nature.   She is good around other calm well adjusted dogs that are her size.  She is eager to please and once she understands what you want her to do, she learns quickly.

Tequila is healthy, playful and very sweet.  She is spayed, current on vaccinations, completed her heartworm treatment and recovery, and stays on heartworm and flea preventive.

NOTE:  In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids.  In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children.  However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction.  Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species.  Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet

The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' direct experiences with the dog. The dog's age is an estimate, and statements about the state of health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, is estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different.
