Evie
is a very sweet, smart young lady. She is learning to crate
well, but makes a fuss and does not like to go in the crate. She
is housebroken and uses a pet door. So far has nice house
manners and knows the difference between toys and off limit
items. Evie loves to go on walks, and does very well, since it
does not seem like she has had any prior leash training.
She might make a great jogging partner, as
she is very energetic. She and Shotzi play very well together,
and she gets along with my other dogs, too.
Evie
was given up because she kept escaping from a 5 ft chain link
fenced yard. I have seen no evidence of jumping, so I think she
probably scaled the chain link fence. A 6 foot wood or anything
not climbable would be best for her. With plenty of human
attention, and/or another dog, she would probably not even try
to escape.
NOTE:
In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids.
In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a
particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL
unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at
all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog,
cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets
can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so
proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any
pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based
solely upon our volunteers' direct experiences with the dog. The
dog's age is an estimate, and statements about the state of
health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with
other animals, children, cats and other dogs, is estimated
solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your
experiences with this dog may be quite different.
