Dennis and Isabella 5-12-10

We'd like to tell you about Dennis and Isabella, who are best of friends and have been for about 5 years now. Dennis and Isabella came to us from another rescue group who had to shut down and they had been there for about 4 years, with no one ever wanting to take them home to a forever home. Dennis is a very big boy who is clutsy and very playful. He loves belly rubs and to just be close to his human and of course close to Isabella. You see Isabella does not get along with most other dogs, but she sure loves Dennis and he loves her. I guess when you've been best freinds for so long and lived in the same kennel, you just kind of learn each other very well. Both Dennis and Isabella do fine with the resident kitties and the foster mom says that's a plus for us. Although their foster mom loves them very much, she'd like to see them get adopted together since they do so well with each other. She thinks they'd miss each other if they were seperated. If you think that you would like to have a pair of great German Shepherds, then Dennis & Isabella are the pair for you. They'd really like to have a forever home to call their own. Can you find a place in your heart for 2 freinds who'd like to stay together? If you can then please fill out and application and put these friends as your interest.

Well, me and my foster mom are getting to know each other quite well and she calls me Dennis the Menace and her friend who also fosters for AGSDR calls me Big Lug. I'm Dennis the Menace because I get into everything and my foster mom thinks some of the things I do are really funny. I like to run around the pool and one night when it was really cold I oops, fell in and my foster mom had to rescue me. She dried me off and I had to have the heat lamp on me in my crate to get back to warm. I guess my foster mom got pretty cold too, but I was just wanting to have some fun. She looked pretty funny all wet herself!

I get the name Big Lug from my second mom because she says I'm the biggest and most loveable GS she's ever met. She's always giving me kisses and I must admit I love it. She says I'm a keeper whatever that means. She also says you'd never know I was an older GS because I have a whole lot of energy and love to play and run. I'm off to school for the next 6 weeks and my foster moms are missing me, but I'm going to return and be the perfect boy when I come home. I'll be available sometime in mid February, so watch for an update then and come check me out when I return from school. I'll look forward to meeting you. Dennis

Hi, my name is Dennis and although they say I'm about 7 to 8 yrs old, my foster mom says she doesn't think so because I act so much like a youngster.  I have lots of energy and love to just be right next to my human.  I am a little mouthy, but my foster mom is working on that and I'm doing better.  I'm a big boy and think that I'd do well in a house with older kids just because I am big and could knock the little ones over (not meaning to).

I get along great with the girls, but I like to be the only boy in the house, so I can be an only dog or if you have some girl dogs in your home that would be great.  I came to the rescue with my friend Issabella and we get along great, other than when she is eating.  She's a good girl so take a look at her on the female page.   I have one ear that appears to have been injured and does not stand up, but my foster mom says it just gives me personality.  I'm learning to play with toys, but becasue I never had any I'm not sure what to do with them.

Well as my foster mom gets to know more about me we'll update this page frequently so check back soon to see how I'm doing or if you think you'd like to come visit me and maybe give me a forever home then just fill out an application and put my name as the dog you are interested in.  I'd love to have my own forever home.

Be seein ya, Dennis

NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.

The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
