Well, not only is this wonderful boy sweet and gorgeous, but he already knows sit, down, shake, and how to retrieve a ball and release on command. He also waits for permission to eat, and will not until he gets the "ok." He comes to you on command, and knows "go" means to move out of the way. Chavo would just love to go to his forever home. I have never met a sweeter dog. This guy is a heartbreaker! He is one big hunk of love, ready to light up your life and steal your heart. He talks to you!

Chavo weighs about 95 lbs. The shelter listed him as 7, but he could be younger, maybe 5-7, and looked older because he was NOT in the best condition. He had severe flea dermatitis which caused some hair loss on his tail, but it is growing in nicely now. Chavo is neutered, current on all shots, flea less now, & housebroken, and is on a slow kill heartworm treatment for very low positive. He walks wonderfully on a leash, and does best with regular exercise and walks, as do all German Shepherds. He is a true gentlemen! Look in those eyes, and you will fall in love. Chavo loves to sleep in the bedroom with his human at night, and is completely trustworthy in the house. He is a bit too interested in kitties, so he would probably do better in a cat free home, and a stay at home person would be best for him, too, as he loves human attention.

NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.

The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
