Faith is a precious girl who obviously had an unfortunate start in life. She is a very lovable and active female black and tan, approximately 1- 2 years old and weighs about 70 pounds. Faith came to the rescue, very thin, undernourished, pregnant and she had skin problems (no mange). As the pictures show, she has healed well from her skin ailment. With excellent nutrition, Faith’s coat has grown in and she is quite a beauty.
Faith gave birth in June to six irresistibly gorgeous and healthy puppies - which were all quickly adopted at 10 weeks of age. Faith was an INCREDIBLE mother to those puppies; she tenderly watched over them, taught them, and kept them safe at all times. Faith allowed other dogs near her litter; however she always kept a close watch without being a ‘meanie’. Faith was a champion during the months of her pregnancy and puppy-rearing.
Faith gets along very well with other dogs. She loves attention from her foster and people that visit. Everyone falls in love with her soulfulness and her tender gaze. She shows no food [or other] aggression. Faith is presently on a ranch where horses, goats, cattle, and other German shepherds are fostered. She is respectful of the large stock but never assertive or aggressive. Continued exposure to diverse environments will give Faith renewed confidence.
This pretty girl is now spayed and recovering well from the stresses of being abandoned early in her life. Faith needs a forever home with a person (or persons) willing to love her unconditionally, spend time with her daily, take her along on errands and day trips, and reassure her that she will never be left behind again. She is house-broken and likes a crate. Faith will need to live indoors as a member of the family. Like all dogs, she needs a secure yard - big enough for a German shepherd to exercise freely. She responds well to dog treats and will entertain anyone with her VERY expressive body language. This smart, sweet girl exhibits all the attributes that will make her a loyal sentry to a loving family.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
