On 11/12/10 Ivory had surgery to repair a crutiate repair done earlier in her life. She's all bandaged up but handling it like a champ. This is one tough and super smart girl! She has been very good about not putting weight on that leg and hasn't even tried to mess with the bandage. She figured out early on that if she didn't mess with the bandage, she didn't have to wear the "lampshade collar". For the next three weeks she has to have weekly check-ups with the vet and is on a NO ACTIVITY restriction, which is obviously a challenge for such a young, active girl. Ivory hasn't been with us for very long and we're still learning about her. She does appear to have had some training in the past. She knows sit, stay, back, and leave it, and she's not tried to jump on anyone. Even before the surgery, she wasn't very good at down, but that might be because of the pain in her leg. We'll try that with her after she recovers from the surgery and see how she does. We told her "leave it" when she discovered the cat food, and she hasn't looked at it since! What a smart girl! More updates will be posted as we get to know her better.

This gorgeous, fun, white GSD loves to go on walks and runs and to play. She is 2.5 to 3 years old and very healthy. She enjoys being around children too, but does have some prey drive and cannot go to a home with cats. She is a smart and dominant female and would be great as an only dog; however, it is felt that she would be fine with a submissive canine companion. She is intelligent, confident, and sweet-tempered. She is a splendid animal, ready to go to her forever home. She does, however, need strong leadership and guidlines, as she is very smart. Ivory is spayed, HW-, and current on her shots and preventative.

She is crate trained, (she sleeps in her crate) housebroken, knows sit, shake, down come, drop (whatever is in her mouth) and okay, to release. Won't you give this lovely young lady a chance at her new forever home? You won't be sorry.

NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.

The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
