Kasey is one of the sweetest GSDs! She is easy going and laid back. Kasey interacts well with other dogs and likes to play. She is alpha dog (mommy role to my GSD's pups). She actually keeps them in line. ( That is kinda cool.) Very curious about cats. She has not hurt my cats at home but when walking, she would like to chase them along with squirrels.
Kasey loves attention. She smiles when her chest is scratched. It is like the ooh-aah feeling. She also likes to be brushed. She is approx. 5 yrs old, spayed, HW negative. Knows some commands and comes when called. She can jump as she has cleared my doggie gate. Kasey crates well. When I first leave there is some howling but she settles well. When I am home, she watches me constantly and loves to sleep on the couch. Howls with some police and/or ambulance sirens. Loves to go on walks and is housebroken. She has a good appetite and loves to eat yogurt and cottage cheese. Good around children.
Kasey is able to "hop" into my SUV with no effort and likes to go for rides. She is a very good watch dog. She has some itching but I do think it is dry skin. I have been giving her fish capsules and that seems to help. Sometimes her right eye is weepy but after I put drops in it is o.k. I am thinking allergies. Her ears have cleared up nicely. If I could, I would adopt this dog -- that is how much I think of her.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
