We are working on Meagan's social skills. With strong leadership, Meagan is a sweet, adorable girl. She is, however, VERY smart, & without it will take advantage of the situation if allowed to. When she sees a dog she does not know, she tends to over react, & must be firmly corrected immediately. She is an absolute angel with people, including children, and some dogs, that she knows. Seems to not be just small dogs either that can get a rise from her. Inside, she is the perfect dog, with wonderful house manners, and outside can be with a bit of work. We even encountered a cat on one morning walk, & with correction Meagan sat & quietly watched it. I was so proud of her!

Meagan seems to do best with large males. She is very affectionate, and would do best as an only dog, or with a fairly large male and maybe some large females. Meagan does not seem to get along well with small yappy dogs, but we are working on her doggie social skills. She is coming along nicely, but probably should not go to a home with cats or small dogs. Being very owner focused, she would be a very loyal friend, and loves children.

Meagan is a lovely 5 year old looking for her forever home. She is spayed, HW-, crated trained, and walks nicely on a leash. She would just love to be your new best friend. Seems to know basic commands, and would like to go on lots of walks with you. We will let you know more about this lovely girl as we get to know her...
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
