Riley has completed her heartworm treatment and rest and can't wait to find her forever home. This wonderful girl loves to go on walks, and does like to jog for short distances. After her heartworm treatment, she has a new lease on life! She was very high positive, but with the pretreatment she had, sailed right through it with no problems at all! Riley still doesn't mind being crated during the day, but is very trustworthy when out. Riley also likes to sleep in her crate, but would also be happy to sleep by your bed at night. She can be a bit dominant, so does better with males and non dominant females.

Sweet Riley is undergoing her heartworm treatment and rest, and will be ready to go to her forever home when her rest period is completed.

Update on Riley; what a sweet smart girl she is. Riley loves to go for walks, and is so good on the leash. She does not pull at all and is curious but not overly excitable on walks. She is very attentive to her human and wants to please. She would make a great friend for someone who likes to go on casual or even brisk walks, but no running, please. Riley is very gentle, so she is would probably be fine with children, even smaller ones.

If you are looking for a lovely mature lady to love, then Riley is your girl! She came to us when her family was moving and could not take her, and the family vet stepped up to help. Riley spent most of her life as a back yard dog, and deserves much better than that. Won't you give this gentle, sweet girl the life she deserves?
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
