Peggy was rescued from Town Lake Animal Center Shelter on October 2008, she was one year old. She was under weight and had been abused. Once home she learn how to walk on a wood floor and to go up and down the stairs. We found that she needed extra help on obedience so she attended Triple Crown Training Center for a period of 2 months where she graduated with high honors. Since then she has learn many tricks such has: sit, down, dead, get your toy and give your paw. She is spayed, current on shots, and on heartworm preventative.

She is a high energy dog and she needs a lot of exercise or she would get very anxious and restless. She can be leash aggressive toward other dogs but she did great an open room doggy day care (DogTopia) for a period of 10 days. She is used to vet visits, boarding and grooming. She is very sweet and eager to please the owner and gets along with our 2 yrs old niece, and she is used to teenagers. She is very protective and territorial; she will bark but has never tried to bite anyone coming in to the house. She is a little shy and anxious with strangers at first, but she warms up to them quickly.

NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.

The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' direct experiences with the dog. The dog's age is an estimate, and statements about the state of health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, is estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different.
