It is my pleasure to introduce Echo, an incredibly sweet, loyal, dainty and beautiful girl who has more than paid her dues to deserve the perfect home. Echo is extremely special and unique—I have yet to meet another dog with her adorable quirks. She is a morning dog, always so happy to see someone up and getting ready for the day! Echo absolutely loves to ride in the car and go places and is so perfectly behaved in public. It was quickly learned to never leave the doors open when unloading or loading the car; she hops right in and sits ready for an adventure. As outgoing as she is with car rides, Echo is very quiet and certain experiences or things can cause fear and anxiety for her. It has been hard to pinpoint the root of her particular triggers, but we hope that by building her confidence with things she loves, like agility and teaching her tricks, she will come out of her shell. She has been shy and a bit wary with strangers, but is very quick to bond and never let her human out of her sight. She is not food aggressive or food driven at all. She also doesn’t seem to know how to really play with other dogs or toys. Echo uses her front paws a lot to gesture and it transitions into her play to a point where other dogs don’t understand her body language. She gets along okay with other pets, but she has yet to find one who will play with her. Echo is not the type of dog who can be left alone for long periods of time, as her desire to be with the people she loves is most important to her. She also cannot be crated, but is fine to be loose in the house at all times.
Echo has had a rough past, but through it all has remained so loving to those she forms attachments with. This sweet spirited girl so desperately needs a stable, loving person she can be close with and make happy. She does need a constant companion, however, so the ideal adopter for Echo would be a semi-active person who either works from home or is retired. Echo would make the perfect office dog as well if your place of business allows pets. Echo deserves someone who will appreciate her devotion and companionship and share in a quiet lifestyle, but not without the occasional car ride!
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
