If you want a bear in the guise of a GSD , Guenther is your boy. He is a large boy whose ears are floppy . The ears bounce as he trots around the house, giving him a cute appearance, especially on a dog his size (a true gentle giant). He is 3 year old sweet calm dog who behaves nicely indoors. He is house broken and walks well on leash. He knows sit and down. He is very gentle with kids. He loves car rides. This boy is fully vetted, healthy and ready to go to his forever home.
Guenther loves chewing his rawhide but does not play with toys much. Guenther is good with other dogs and cats (we know this is true because he was attacked by the office cats at the shelter and wouldn't even defend himself...he just ran away). We were told he was raised with 5 children ranging in age from 1 year old to 15 years old, and was good with all of them. His only flaw was catching chickens, which caused him to lose his happy home. Won't you give this sweet gentle boy a chance. He has been very confused about losing his home and will make someone a great addition to the family.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
