Juniper is a 14 month old German shepherd dog. She is an awesome dog! She is a very sweet girl but sadly ended up in a shelter with her brother, Jake (see Jake’s bio and pics). Juniper and Jake were lucky dogs because the shelter staff realized their great temperaments and made a huge effort to get them into AGSDR. She is a playful girl who is smart and very social with humans and other dogs. Jake and Juniper are very bonded and it would be great to see them adopted together. That said, Juniper would also do well in a home with another dog that she could bond to and play with. She did walk through the cat room at the vet’s office and didn’t even seem to notice them so she might be ok with cats but has not formally been evaluated with cats thusfar. She has not been around kids that we know of but she is great with all humans that she has met so far so she would probably we ok with kids. She is a very large rambunctious puppy so she could knock them down if they are very little. Juniper and Jake are currently in training at Southern Star Ranch and are soon ready for adoption.

NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.

The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
