Becoming an AGSDR Volunteer |

Austin
German Shepherd Dog Rescue is an all volunteer rescue group and without volunteers,
We need YOUR help. We feel extremely fortunate to have the number of volunteers we have in our organization, but our needs are growing and changing each and every week. There is much to be done in saving the lives of so many German Shepherds, and so little time to do it in. There are many rewarding volunteer opportunities waiting for YOU by joining AGSDR. YOU will be a part of helping us make sure every German Shepherd that comes in to our rescue finds the perfect home. Think about it... YOU... spending one... two... three... maybe more... hours a month giving of yourself and time. The impact YOU make will be one of the most satisfying experiences you will ever have. Knowing, without doubt, that YOU are part of something so worthy. Simply by contributing your TIME, TALENTS or EXPERIENCE, you will become part of an organization that is honorable, dedicated and takes pride in what they do each and every day. YOU too can feel that pride by joining Austin German Shepherd Rescue as a volunteer. Below is a list of our current volunteer opportunities. Won't YOU become part of the AGSDR family and become a volunteer?
About Home Visits – These are quick and easy to do, generally taking 30 minutes to an hour. We usually post giving an area/address asking for volunteers in that part of town to do the home visit. Once you find one you can do, you can reply back that you would like to go with whoever does it so that you can learn how (if you want company the first time or two). We use a standard checklist of what to look for – when I feel lazy I STILL take and say "haven't done these in a while, so please bear with me while I follow this form along" and that really makes it easy to take your time and just go question by question without having to worry that you'll miss something or what to say. One thing you can do, also, if you want, is learn how to check references and run applications...it's really not very hard. Might want to start with home visits and then add reference checks before you do applications! If you are interested in any of these volunteer opportunities or you have a talent you would like to share, please complete our volunteer information form and someone will contact you within 24 hours! THANK YOU!
