Vick and Molly were rescued from the local shelter. Vick is a Champ who very much resembles a Dutch Shepherd with his tiger colorings. Molly is black/tan in color. Both were real troopers during their 5 hour drive from Dallas, Tx to their foster home in Houston, Tx. Both have been checked by the vet and are up to date on their shots, and both heartworm negative. Vick and Molly have strong spirits, it only took a couple of days in a loving foster home where they had their own room/suite to themselves, good food, and family interaction when they began to blossom and show their playful personality. They look forward to spending time with the my twins who sit supervised by their large crate and watch the puppies play and sleep. Molly and Vick get alot of supervised play time outside their crate especially when my neighbor comes over almost every day for good quality play time and when she leaves they are both ready for a nap. Our adult German Shepherds aren't that interested in them yet, but in the evening when the whole family gets together in the living room and the pups are holding the court, the big dogs do lay very close by and watch the pups and twins play.
Neither Molly or Vick are intimidated at all by Human Adults, Children, or Big Dogs. Molly and her brother Vick are extremely friendly and sociable. Molly loves to snuggle and if she thinks her brother is getting too much attention, she will very gently pull on your shirt or pants. She loves to be close to her humans. Vick is the explorer, he is more independent than his sister. Vick loves to take the tennis ball in his mouth and walk around with it. Molly and Vick are already responding to their names and come to you when they are called, which indicates how smart these little darlings are. It is a joy to watch them jump, hop, run, and play.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
