Meet Ranger!
At just 10 weeks old, Ranger is already everything you love about a German Shepherd wrapped up in one adorable little package.
This confident, fearless boy loves being close to his people and has the sweetest, most affectionate personality. Whether you’re hanging out at home or heading out on an adventure, Ranger wants to be right by your side.
He’s an incredibly smart puppy who is already about 95% potty trained and has been doing fantastic with crate training—he sleeps quietly in his crate without accidents. He’s also picking up on other dogs’ social cues beautifully and is learning the world around him every single day.
Like any teething puppy, Ranger is currently in his “land shark” phase, so plenty of appropriate chew toys are a must! His favorites are tennis balls and honking pig toys, and while he loves playing with other dogs, he’s also perfectly happy entertaining himself with a toy.
Ranger absolutely loves meeting new people, does great with kids, and enjoys going for car rides. He’ll spend a few minutes taking in all the exciting smells before settling down and quietly relaxing for the ride.
He’s already showing that classic Shepherd intelligence—and maybe a little Shepherd sass, too! Ranger isn’t afraid to tell you what he thinks and has quite the opinionated little personality, which only adds to his charm.
Right now, he seems much more interested in playing than eating, and surprisingly, the kiddie pool hasn’t impressed him yet.
Because of his breed traits, Ranger would thrive in a home that understands German Shepherds and can provide him with continued training, structure, and plenty of mental stimulation. We’d especially love to see him join a family with another playful dog to help show him the ropes and burn off some puppy energy.
Ranger has an exceptional temperament and all the makings of an incredible lifelong companion. He’s sweet, loving, eager to learn, and ready to find the family he’ll grow up with.
Could Ranger be your newest best friend?
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
